The top 5 kid-friendly meals on Suppli

Ordering zero waste takeout for yourself is great, but how awesome is it to be able to order for kids and use it as an opportunity to talk to them about our waste problem and how our purchases make a difference? Pretty awesome, we think! That said, kids can sometimes be picky eaters, and not every restaurant’s menu is ideal when you’re ordering for someone under 12. That’s why we’ve taken the time to the feature the top 5 kid-friendly meals on Suppli! Keep reading for dishes that are sure to please the little soon-to-be environmentalists in your life!

#1 Pomarosa’s Meal for Babies

Pomarosa has a great option for kids at around the four and under mark (or for older kids with small appetites). It’s called their Meal for Babies, and it includes four small arepas, which are corn-based and kind of like a cross between a tortilla and a pancake, as well as avocado and your choice of either chicken or beans as a protein.

They also serve a super fun marshmallow hot chocolate that would be a serious crowd pleaser for the kids in your life!

#2 Animal Liberation Kitchen’s Mac n Cheese

What kid doesn’t love Mac n Cheese? We haven’t met one yet! Animal Liberation Kitchen is completely vegan, so this Mac n Cheese is cashew based but it does not compromise when it comes to being creamy and “cheesy”. If you have a kid that is a little more adventurous, they’ll love the kimchi, lemon-tofu, and sesame seed toppings. However, for a pickier child, you can simply ask for the toppings to be left out, or scrape them off and enjoy them yourself!

They also have delicious chocolate chip cookies available for order. Just sayin…

#3 Gushi’s Family Set

Gushi’s Family Set (available at the Cabbagetown location only) is made for sharing, and kids will love the fried chicken and fries in particular.

Japanese Fried Chicken is actually the original fried chicken, which comes from the Kyushu region of Japan and became extremely popular after World War 2 (sorry to break it to you KFC lovers!) so you can teach kids some food history along with this order!

#4 The Ellery Market’s Grilled Cheese

Another kid-approved favourite, grilled cheese from The Ellery Market is served on butter-toasted multigrain bread and includes a super tasty aged cheddar. Their Classic Slaw is a great side to add as well!

#5 The Social Gardener’s Pizza Pockets

Boy, do pizza pockets ever bring back nostalgic memories for us! These pizza pockets, though, are nothing like the frozen mess we used to microwave back in the way. Available in both “pepperoni” (it’s vegan) and veggie, these pizza pockets are baked with house-made tomato sauce, vegan cheese, and ranch dip. They are soooo good!

That caps off our kid-approved menu from Suppli! Have you ordered an item via Suppli’s food delivery platform that your kid absolutely loved? Share it and we’ll add it to the list! We’ll be sure to keep this list up to date as more kid friendly options pop-up on Suppli so you can make takeout sustainable for the whole family!
