The App to End Takeout Waste: Suppli Launches Food Ordering App

Toronto, ON (September 6, 2022): Today, Suppli, a female-founded reusable takeout container service, has launched a web-based food ordering app where customers can order takeout for pick-up or delivery and receive their meals without packaging waste. Suppli has saved over 45,000 single-use takeout containers from landfills to date and estimates that with the launch of its app, another 200,000 containers can be saved from landfills in the next year alone!

Suppli’s founder and CEO, Megan Takeda-Tully, said of the recent product launch, “We’re excited to provide our customers with an improved and more convenient way to order takeout without all the packaging waste and to simplify the order fulfillment process for our restaurant partners.”

Suppli launched its pilot program in the east end of Toronto in October 2020 to understand how the market would react to a reusable takeout container solution. “This is the best idea since the beginning of take-out! Suppli’s stylish containers not only reduce waste but keep hot food HOT. I love everything about Suppli.” - Suppli customer.

With recent news uncovering how little of our recycling is diverted from landfills (a low 9%), and the IPCC report calling for urgent action to deal with increasing climate risks, of which single-use packaging is a significant contributor, consumers are eager for an eco-friendly solution that integrates seamlessly into their day-to-day. A solution, thanks to the Suppli app, that starts with dinner!
